PAUL CREATES HIS SINGLE-CUT GUITAR!

Just when you think you have seen everything. The guitar world just keep turning out some of the most amazing guitars.

Paul Stanley brings us ‘his’ intepatation of the ultimate single-cut guitar! Building on the traditional concept of vintage Gibson Les Paul guitars as well as other solid body guitar Paul admires, the Washburn Paul Stanley Preacher yields a true ‘traditional’ feel and a ‘traditional’ tone but with slightly more ‘progressive’ and a truly ‘sexy’ body and headstock shape! If a guitar can be sexy – the Preacher is sexy!

As Paul moves into a new era of his performing career, more and more solo performances and music are on the horizon. Sparked by his smash 2006 ‘LIVE TO WIN’ album and tour, the Preacher guitar was introduced in grand style! With Paul playing it exclusively on his solo tour – all across the USA and Australia! And one of the first top-end Korean built Preachers that Boogie Street designed with Washburn was Paul’s man axe in the land down under!

I have had the chance to work with Paul on 2 custom korean built runs of 50 guitars. These are the PS8500BSG1 and the PS8500BSG2 preachers. Amazing build quality, full trim, USA pickups and hardware – and simply amazing feel and tone.

Next up, I worked with Paul to bring a rather unique idea to the Preacher. We made a USA Custom Shop run of oil finish Padauk Preachers.

I acutally got a chance to present Paul one of thse guitars! And some really, really amazing people stepped up to acquire the others guitars in this run. Padauk is an amazing tonewood and when these Padauk is matched with Mahogany – that ‘classic rock’ tone is instant! With the great reception of the satin Padauk Preachers – we moved on to the next run of ‘High Gloss’ Padauk Preachers!

We are currently working with the Washburn USA Custom Shop on other Preacher runs including the Crimson Preacher, the Angelic Preacher and the PS5.

Since Jan of 2007, my trips to Washburn in Chicago has basically been to work on various Preacher projects. Here is a short video clip of my trip in Jan of 2007 – just when our Preacher projects got their launch.

Boogie Street still stocks the ‘regular’ USA Custom Shop Preacher guitars.

Paul’s committment to the Preacher is real – and strong. The single-cut marketplace is ripe or a better guitar. And as Paul told me at NAMM in 2007 – he said “People should not confuse tradition with perfection. Meet perfection – the Preacher”

All of our projects include the input of my good frien, Fran Steuber, Paul’s longtime guitar tech and his Live To Win tour production manager. And just one helluva great guy!
