New 2009 NAMM Washburn Scott Ian Blood Splatter WV540ASI – R A R E !

Ok Friends –

This one is quite easy.

This is the 2009 Winter NAMM Washburn USA Custom Shop Scott Ian Signature ‘V’ done by Chewy in Ian’s ‘Blood Splatter’ finish –

It’s Gruesome – It’s Bold – It’s Brutal – It’s Scott Ian! Yes, Scott Ian, the Anthrax Great!

This one has been tucked away at Washburn. Now it’s available and it’s available from Washburn’s Largest Custom Dealer – Boogie Street.

Of course these guitars are no longer made. And in fact, Scott is no longer a Signature Artist at Washburn. So indeed – this guitar is R A R E.

The guitar is Brand New. And it has acquired one ding which you can see in the photographs. It’s on the upper bout tip, near the point. It’s a spot which goes through the paint.

This ‘spot’ can certainly be touched up by the new owner or – more realistically – left as is. Because, let’s face it: This is a Brutal guitar with a truly Brutal finish which just begs to be assaulted on stage.

Other than this spot – the guitar is in complete New condition.

Of course, these guitars married the Parker Neck/Fingerboard technology with Washburn’s solid body build quality.

New ‘Factory 2nd’ Washburn USA Custom Shop WI556 Idol Guitar!

Washburn blended the industry’s finest single-cut – the IDOL with Parker neck technology and what surfaced was the WI556.

This particular piece is a ‘Factory 2nd’ only because of a small paint blem on the body top – right next to the Floyd Rose. That’s It! Nothing structural and nothing that would effect the play of the guitar. But it’s priced hundreds less!

This dark silver metallic finish was expertly done by Washburn’s paint guru, Chewy –

Sadly, like the HM526, the WI556 is no longer in production. And we don’t see them coming back, sadly.

These guitars are spec’d out with thick mahogany carved body, mahogany set-in neck, carbon fiber epoxy fretboard, stainless steel frets, direct mounted EMG 81/85 humbuckers, Floyd Rose trem, Grover tuners and a whole lotta attitude!!

New 2008 USA Parker PM60 Black Burst Quilt ‘Factory 2nd’ Guitar !

This guitar has been tucked away at Parker USA in Chicago since 2008. BSG has acquired this beauty from Parker and it’s set up and ready to go.

A Factory Second. Why? Over the years while sitting in it’s case, there developed a small split in the clearcoat right at the nut. Purely cosmetic. Does not affect the playability of this Parker guitar in any way.

Because of this small blemish in the high gloss clear coat – the guitar is listed as ‘Factory 2nd’ and priced significantly down from standard retail PM60 pricing.

This beauty features Parker’s legendary neck as well as a Seymour Duncan Jazz & JB pickup combination.

The Black Burst stain is done over top grade quilted maple.

A very light guitar with a slick, fast neck. And the build quality is EXACTLY what you expect in a USA Custom Shop Parker!

As we know, the USA PM60 is no longer made and when they were in production – few were made out of the USA shop in Chicago.

Brand New 2007 Washburn USA Nick Catanese Signature IDOL Guitar – the LAST Factory ET

My friends – truly, this is the end.

And it’s a MONSTER – 12.2 pounds!

As we know, Nick & Washburn parted ways a few years ago.

And tucked away in the Washburn vaults was this Brand New 2007 USA custom shop ET Idol.

It’s been tucked away and was part of Washburn’s prior owner’s personal display collection at Washburn’s Chicago Headquarters.

This one is TRULY a monster. Heavy, thick and just – AWESOME!

For more than 5 years, Boogie Street Guitars worked with Nick Catanese of Black Label Society in helping to bring to market the most massive single cut ever known to the guitar playing community.

Together, BSG & Nick sold hundreds and hundreds of Signature ET Idols. And now here is the *LAST* ET to leave the Washburn factory.

It’s in new condition save for two marks in the clearcoat, on the neck, at the nut, on both sides. Also there are some marks in the clear at the fret ends. This is a result of the guitar sitting in it’s case for more roughly 4 years. Just cosmetic. Nothing structural. Nothing that would effect the playability of the guitar.

Washburn USA Custom Shop ROGER WATERS Guitar

In the early 2000s, Washburn had a signature deal with Roger Waters.

BSG sold most of these guitars. These were the RW300 Customs.

Well…This is the LAST ONE ever made.

In Washburn’s words…

“The RW300 brings together a Seymour Duncan P90 style pickup and a Fishman preamp with a piezo bridge. These pickups, in combination with the chambered mahogany body and solid spruce top, reduce the chance of feedback and give the RW300 a tremendously accurate and vibrant acoustic tone. Roger was the creator and sonic architect of such undeniable classics as Dark Side Of The Moon (which spent nearly 15 years on the Billboard 200 album chart), The Wall (which has been certified 23x RIAA platinum), Animals, Wish You Were Here, and Final Cut. Following Final Cut, Roger Waters left Pink Floyd.”

There is NO CERTIFICATE for this guitar as the remaining couple signed certificates that were remaining at Washburn were lost. Not all of the guitars were made. But – this last one was constructed in 2007. It’s been tucked away at BSG for 3 years.

The Paul Stanley USA Custom Signature ‘V’ Guitar Arrives!

My friends – it’s here. This is the FIRST commercially available PSV2200B. You know! The USA Custom Shop Washburn Paul Stanley ‘V’ in deep black – EXACTLY the same one Paul plays live on the Sonic Boom tour!

This is the Summer NAMM 2010 display guitar. It’s the first PSV to be made from the USA custom shop that was NOT being sent to Paul. The FIRST is the FIRST!

Paul really, really did an amazing job with this guitar. When this V was being created, Paul conveyed to me in conversation that like his Preacher guitars, Paul wanted to redesign the classic single pickup ‘V’ which he used and loved in the earlier years of KISS. In this new guitar – there is no question a strong salute back to that 70′s guitar but this time around Paul added his own refinements which include a slightly slimmer body and neck profile, his now easily recognizable split block inlay on ebony fingerboard and bright white neck binding and just the coolest 6 in-line reverse headstock. This headstock just ‘works’ with this guitar. There is no question. And this headstock has a Mother of Pearl inlaid Washburn logo as well as a diamond shaped Paul Stanley custom truss rod cover. Other refinements from the original include just the most amazing white Seymour Ducan custom humbucker, better neck joint and of course – the Paul Stanley vibe!

Just like the PS2000 and the Preacher…this is truly at Paul Stanley designed Signature.

I’ve had the pleasure to discuss guitars and work with Paul on quite a few projects in the past 5 years and while as of today, BSG’s ‘stamp’ on the Paul Stanley front has been with Paul’s Preachers, BSG has planned continued custom work with Paul and PSV. Both on the USA front as well as the Import front.

Eric’s working with Paul in order to develop a totally spec’d out leather wrapped PS1900 guitar. There was a white leather and two black leathers.

This listing here is the the white leather wrapped body.

Please note: The guitar is not ‘perfect’. This is a Prototype. There are some scuffs and marks from the handling the guitar has seen between the factory, Washburn, BSG and Paul.

The guitar has Grover tuners w/Keystone Buttons, a TonePros Bridge, two Randall Humbuckers, Ebony fingerboard with Paul’s split block inlay, binding – etc.

A BLACK & TAN Nuno N4 – with a twist!

So..as you may know, Boogie Street Guitars has commissioned a run of 30 numbered and very special Washburn Nuno Bettencourt Signature N4 USA custom shop guitars. I designed the specs of this run with maple necks and fingerboards. So naturally when coming up with a name for this run of Nuno guitars – Black & Tan was the ticket!

We have received the first 4 of the 30 Black & Tan guitars. Well – I requested some ‘one offs’ in the Black & Tan series. Leaving some of the specs and trim ideas up to Terry Atkins and Chewy in the Washburn USA Custom Shop. One of these special ‘one off’ Black & Tan guitars landed today.

This one has all the custom specs of our Black & Tan run but this guitar utilizes Chrome hardware and a painted headstock front. EXCEPTIONAL!!

‘RACING RED’ USA Custom Shop PS5 Preacher!

It’s here!

As discussed in our prior video I mentioned that Washburn Custom Shop Director, Terry Atkins, did a couple of our PS5 guitars up in solid colors and high gloss! And this Racing Red monster does not disappoint!

I saw the guitar at Washburn last week but somehow – it looks even BETTER here at BSG!

Dan did a great job photographing the guitar however – Red is a very, very tough color – maybe the toughest – to photograph digitally.

This guitar is RED. Racing Red. Not Orange. Not Burgundy. RED!

It’s outfitted with Red/Black open coiled Seymour Duncans. A Custom Custom Seymour Duncan in the bridge and a Custom Custom Seymour in the neck. It has black hardware including a TonePros bridge and Grover 18-1 with… of course…KEYSTONE buttons. It’s the BSG WAY!

Red Flame USA Custom Washburn WI568

This is one – if not the LAST WI568 to leave Washburn, Chicago.

The USA custom shop has been scaled back and ‘standard’ Washburn Idol guitars are no longer being made on the USA front. Truly the end of an era.

This is truly the ‘original’ idol. The original WI68. The thin body, 22 fret beauty that started the Idol run back in 1999.

This one has a killer Red Bursted tight flame top, natural reveal and a ‘set-in’ metallic red back.

‘NO LOGO’ Nick Catanese USA Custom Shop Washburn Idol

It took a couple of years, but in 2007 I had convinced Nick to do a short run of USA, thick body Idols with oiled maple necks that did NOT have his ‘ET’ logo painted onto the body of the guitar.

Let’s back up for a sec – Nick as in Nick Catanese of Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society. That is who we are talking about.

Anyway… The guitars were just MONSTERS. I have one of them tucked away here at BSG. Still factory fresh – still ‘NEW’ – and still under Washburn warranty.

This is as big and brutal as a single-cut can possibly be. It’s like an LP, Dean Cadillac or a PRS single on STERIODS. Buries them all.

Decked out with a set of Zakk Wylde EMG humbuckers, TonePros bridge, Grover Tuners, Ebony fingerboard, Gray/Black Maple flametop, Oiled Maple Neck… just look at this monster!

New Washburn USA Paul Stanley HIGH GLOSS PS5 Guitar!

Back about a year ago I proposed the idea of the USA PS5 Preacher to Paul. The idea was with the spiraling cost of Korean guitar construction and the inability for the Indonesian facility (at that time) to delivery another PS8500 Preacher run, to build a USA Custom Shop Preacher guitar, fully spec’d out in a fashion that Paul is known for and BSG is known for and at the same time try to have the guitar hit the ‘street’ with a price between $2000 and $2300.

We accomplished this feat with the Oil Finished PS5 guitars. Terry Atkins and his crew in the Chicago Custom Shop made my idea a reality. We have sold many, many oil finsihed PS5 guitars. And BSG presented Paul one of the first we did. His response was very positive which helped us propel the project forward.

Terry knows me well and he thought he would throw me a curveball or two so he did a few PS5 guitars in solid colors. So, we took delivery on some Bright White and Racing Red PS5 Preachers! Exploding colors with a traditional High Gloss finish. The cool thing was the upcharge to the ‘street price’ was only between $200 and $300 additional! Amazing!!

Today, Terry sent me what I thought was another Oil Finished PS5 with Custom Ordered Plain Covered Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbuckers. And indeed..that is what I received today, however – instead of Oil Finish, Terry had Washburn’s paint guru Chewy do this one up with High Gloss Lacquer! What a cool, cool twist. The result – a really exceptional guitar!

Remember – the PS5 USA Preacher guitars are exclusive to BSG and feature top end specs found on ‘Stock’ USA Preacher guitars and a few extra high end specs thrown in! This includes ebony fretboards, Mother of Pearl block inlay, maple set-in neck, mahogany body back, carved mahogany body top, preacher headstock with the PS9200 ‘Art Deco’ inlay, Grover tuners w/Keystone Buttons, TonePros bridge and a whole lot more!

The 'SOLAR FIRE' Custom WI556 Idol!

Now – how hard was this guitar to photograph? It took Dan and I to combine our photos to get good examples of how many colors are in this ‘Solar Fire’ paint finish!

As you may have seen on the video I recorded once this guitar arrived – as the biggest Washburn Idol dealer on the planet – it’s really an adjustment for me to see, feel and play a thick body Idol guitar with a reverse 6 inline headstock.

However – after visiting Washburn and carefully listening and personally playing the HM Series…. I think I get it. I may not fully appreciate the headstock on an Idol, I do completely understand how amazing the Parker carbon fretboards are on these Washburn HM guitars.

BSG will be doing many, many HM series guitars going forward with Washburn and these Chewy MASTERPIECE is a great way to start!

Again – the specs are solid mahogany body back and carved top and mahogany set-in neck with a Carbon Glass Composite 24 fret fingerboard.

Add in ‘direct mount’ EMG 81/85 humbuckers and an Original Floyd Rose Trem… and you have one pretty aggressive guitar – ready for battle.

But the paint on this guitar just overwhelms. Even the photos below really can’t explain how this paint’s colors ‘move’ when the guitar is moved. Much more than the often used ‘flip flop’ paint….there is a huge palette of colors on this guitar. Literally. Chewy once again – just amazes!

The eBay and Gbase price on this guitar is 1975 USD. This price includes worldwide shipping.

Well, Terry Atkins and the great crew at Washburn’s USA Custom Shop continue to amaze! First – it was our oiled finish Paul Stanley PS5 guitars. Next was the Racing Red PS5…and now…the Bright White PS5!

This one is stacked with Bright White Seymour Ducan open coil humbuckers. A ’59 in the neck and a JB in the bridge. Black hardware including a TonePros bridge and Grover Tuners with KEYSTONE buttons! Nice!!

We have more coming both in oil finish and in solid colors! The response as has been tremendous! And as I said before regarding the PS5 Preacher – we dig them, Paul digs them, Washburn digs them and most importantly, the PS5 owners dig them!

Zakk Wylde GUITAR VAULT for Sale

Back in 2007, a fantastic custom guitar case builder, Jeff McMurray of BandMate USA, hand built two large guitar vaults. One was for Zakk Wylde and one was for Zakk’s bandmate, Nick Catanese.

These Vaults were extremely – EXTREMELY – well made. Jeff used the finest woods, hinges, tolex, crushed velvet, interior lighting, casters – the whole deal.

When the two guitar vaults reached LA, they were dismissed by a roadie for Black Label Society. Reasons for this dismissal are puzzling. But regardless, the Catanese camp retrieved the cases before this roadie discarded them. And thank goodness this happened because what a tremendous sin it would have been for these guitar vaults to have been dismissed.

Nick has the vault made for him with his logo, etc. And I have acquired the vault which was made originally for Zakk.

This vault has been kept inside at the Boogie Street Guitars offices in Pittsburgh. We have used the vault for high-end guitar storage as well as background for guitar photography as well as a great background for our Boogie Street video productions and promotions.

As I change the Boogie Street offices around and we reconfigure our operations here, I’ve made the decision to put this guitar vault up for sale.

BSG’s photographer Dan Speicher has taken the following pictures. The case is outstanding condition. The only ‘fault’ is a tear in the tolex on the back. This happened during shipping from LA to Pittsburgh back in 2007.

The vault is amazing. Jeff did such a great job on these two pieces. The vault is roadworthy. But in my opinion, this is THE perfect guitar display case for any gameroom, music room or den. It’s so ‘rock and roll’ and it has the interior recessed lighting and it’s on wheels so it can be moved.

This guitar vault is heavy. As shown in the pictures, there is a front ‘door’ which comes with the vault so it can be ‘closed’.

The vault and the door are included. The BLS Vest, the guitars and SDMF straps pictured below are NOT part of the sale.

I will NOT ship this vault. I would like this to be picked up by the buyer. However – if the buyer wants to handle the shipping – completely – I’ll make the vault available for pickup by a carrier as long as the shipping cost and insurance liability is covered between the buyer and whatever carrier they choose. In short – once it leaves BSG – I don’t want the responsibility for it arriving safely.

This is a very, very cool piece of rock and roll memorabilia and it’s ready to be enjoyed and displayed in all it’s glory.

The asking price is 5500 USD and I’m considering offers close to that number. If this guitar vault sells – that’s great. If it does not sell – it does not sell. We will find a place for it in the new BSG office configuration. However, I’m willing to offer this custom guitar vault up for sale.

Nick Catanese 'SPADE' Stage Guitar for Sale

I’m currently selling a very rare Washburn USA Custom Shop guitar. This Custom Shop, per request from the Washburn Artist Relations department, back in 2004, made Black Label Society guitarist, Nick Catanese, a group of stage guitars for Nick to use to launch the beginning of his signature artist deal. A total of 5 or 6 guitars were handcrafted for Nick in the summer of 2004 and they were delivered to Nick backstage at the Chicago stop of the 2004 Ozzfest concert.

This guitar is one of those 5 or 6 given to Nick. Those guitars officially ‘launched’ the Nick Catanese Signature ‘Evil Twin’ Idol series Washburn guitars which were marketed by Washburn all throughout the world. As as Washburn’s largest Custom Shop dealer – and Washburn’s Finest Dealer, Boogie Street worked together with the Catanese camp over the years to make hundreds of great ‘Evil Twin’ Signature Idol guitars.

That era has come to a close. And I’m marketing one of – if not THE most rare USA Custom Shop Evil Twin Signature guitars ever made.

This guitar has a serial number from August of 2004. This is the famous ‘Spade 13′ stage guitar Nick used for part of the Blessed Hellride and Mafia tours by BLS. I acquired the guitar shortly thereafter from Nick personally.

This guitar features Nick’s personal neck profile which is THICK. Very THICK. It is easily identifiable as one of Nick’s personal guitars because it has the red ExTx inlay on the 13th fret – instead of the 12th fret, like all the commercially available Evil Twin Signatures.

The maple flame top on this one is done in black/gray striping and it’s truly a sight to behold. TREMENDOUS top on this Washburn.

The back of the guitar is where the magic is. Washburn’s paint guru and personal friend of mine, Chewy, painted this guitar for Nick. He incorporated an ‘all over’ iron cross and skull graphic together with a center graphic of a large black spade and the number 13 – Nick’s lucky number.

This guitar is completely all original including the factory Zakk Wylde EMG pickups, chrome hardware including TonePros bridge and Grover Tuners. The guitar features an ebony fretboard again with the red ExTx inlaid on the 13th fret.

The guitar has the Black Label Society ‘Skull’ on the headstock in the center of the inlaid Mother of Pearl circle and just below the inlaid ‘Washburn’ script, also inlaid in Mother of Pearl.

The guitar comes with a Letter of Authenticity from me, on Boogie Street Stationary as well as various printed photos of this guitars.
