Alright, new idea here. Let's see if it takes off. You can reply once a day, once a week, once an hour... who cares! Just tell us what you are jamming on at the moment, and how it's going.

For me, today I jammed on Civil War from GNR and Animals by Nickelback (possibly the easiest song ever). Animals was easy, as I said. It's in D. Use lots of gain and a high output pickup.

My Les Paul Classic and I have been trying to work things out lately. Ya know... getting back together and all. So, I worked on getting Civil War down today (and yesterday, and the day before). There's a lot of arpeggiating in the song which just takes practice to keep from screwing it up... or at least it does for me, anyway! Razz

So, what have YOU been jamming on?!?!

Omerta- Jamb of God. It's going ok. Drop D, I'm using the Dime-O-Flame and the Fallen Idol Depending on my mood. Seems to be alot of Drop D stuff either way. I think I will get back to some Dream Theater after this though.

What are YOU jammin on?????

A couple of easier classics:
Boston - Peace of Mind
Kiss - Detroit Rock City (In honor of my new PS8500, which is incredible)
Probably time to tackle something more difficult.

My family got me a new acoustic for my birthday back in October. After a year without one, I've just been trying to get myself to remember a lot of the stuff I used to play, along with some new stuff I picked up. Mostly Alice In Chains with some Skynyrd mixed in. Also, Ozzy's Diary Of A Madman (well, at least the intro). Other stuff as well but it's not coming to mind right now.

Like Suicide -- a new Seether tune. Seether covers go over real well at our shows. Also a couple of Zep tunes since our new singer kicks total ass.

I have been working a set list of covers if I ever find a band to jam with. They are mixed style wise pretty well, and they go as follows...

Gypsy Road - Cinderella [Always loved the main riff in this.]

Smooth Criminal - Alien Ant Farm [My 2 yr old loves this tune.]

Gear Jammer - George Thourogood [Slide work always goes over well.]

Driving Rain - Govt. Mule [Respect the Mule! $ a great riff.]

The Middle - Jimmy Eat World [My son plays this as well, so why not work him into the mix?]

Feeling Way Too Damn Good - Nickelback [Fun tune to jam on.]

Ball and Chain - Social Distortion [Way easy and my son jams this as well.]

I have been using my Gibby Vintage Mahogany throughout, and my Marshall. All these songs sound good through them, and I get great tone as well as the damn near spot on tone from the songs listed. I am adding more and more since I don't have all the slide parts worked out, and I seem to always change the solos to make them more like a cover and jam. Plus I hate to figure out solos, save for the Gear Jammer. I do want to learn that one. Laughing

What are you jamming out on?!?

Ball And Chain... D-A-G-D. I love that song, and it's so easy to improvise a solo over, too. Great list!

Today I've been messing around with "Crazy Bitch" from Buckcherry. Pretty easy tune once you get the rhythm down. However, no matter what I'm playing, I find myself wandering off and just noodling along after a while!

I've been playing with a GREAT clean jazz model on the PODxt. Jus tsubtle manipulations of the volume and tone controls make such a HUGE difference with this channel. I'm playing my Gibson Les Paul Classic again today, but I've definitely marked this model off in the back of my mind for when I get the White Lightning.

Gasonline - Seether (boring, but cool!)

AIC - Man in the Box and Would?

Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Black Stone Cherry - Rollin On

Buck Cherry - Lit Up

Drowning Pool - Bodies

STP - Plush

Seether - Fake It

White Zombie - Thunderkiss 65

Motley Crue - Wild Side

Hellyeah - Alcoholinass

Been practicing the hell out of these songs. We are doing a short set around new years in front of a local band around here for about 3 or 4 hundred people, so I haven't been playing much other than those songs...even my fingers are bored! LOL!

Mostly practicing at home with my little Marshall Micro Stack and a Pod XT Live, with my 2 Face Erasers. At rehearsal, I play through a Dunlop Hendrix Wah and my Mesa Dual Rectifier. I have been really getting into my Idol lately, but it is so much smaller than my Face Erasers and my Strats that it is taking some getting used to. Now it is just getting tedious honing down just those few songs, even though it isn't supposed to be! HA!

I've been messing around a lot on the Clean Jazz channel on the PODxt. Man, it's too cool. I don't plug in enough.
