I saw that some music store in Florida is offering a JCM800 2x12 combo on eBay...Buy It Now for only $799! Not only that, but since the onboard reverb is broken, they're throwing in an Alesis Nanoverb for free...

Since it's 50 watts though, would I need an attenuator (sp?) to get a good sound out of it at a reasonable volume level?

it depends on your neighbors.....i have a jcm2000 DSL 401 combo 40 watts and when i turn it up above volume 3 or so my neighbors clall the cops on me...It has the EL 84's in it that are supposed to break up quicker at lower volumes....i believe that the jcm 800 has el 34's which need more drive to get the tone.....i do know that when on the rare occasion i am able to turn it up half way it sounds really good.....i have been loooking into power brakes etc for mine...the marshall has a fan built in to keep it cool and most places and people i talk to say to get it because of that feature..but the THD hot plates i have heard good things about too....and they are at a decient price....good luck and watch out if the reverb is broken maybe it was dropped or something and you may have trouble with the tubes on that one

Hi there! I think that's a decent score for sure!

You might look into the attenuator as suggested and also look into a hotplate by THD, they work great for my rig in my condo!
