Hello Fred!

I just received my new M-20 Instigator #18! I love it! Only thing is the fret sides are a little sharp and need to be filed or sanded. How do I smooth them out without messing it up? Eric said you were the man with the plan!

hey man - the instigators are cool!! if i was not such a big cat - i'd get one too...

here is what to do...

go to home depot and buy a small, flat 'hobby' file and just tape off the side of the neck where it meets the fingerboard and just leave the exposed edges - and lightly just file down any fret that is a bit too wide or jagged. sounds complicated but very, very easy.

they import runs from any mfg - since they are coming via boat and hitting various climates can cause wood - expecially fingerboards to shrink or swell - just part of the guitar business, i suppose.

hope this helps man.

.
