MAJOR GUITARS

Major Guitars is a intentionally small and boutique guitar company that was created to provide me an outlet to produce one guitar design I have formed throughout my years in the guitar business.

Major Guitars, the company, will be built around one guitar shape. This guitar shape and concept has been entitled the ‘Brutus Project’ and has been in various stages of development since November of 2006. While the design of the Brutus guitar has taken shape over many years, in 2008 the entire guitar design has been refined and completed.

I’ve partnered with Bernie Rico Jr on this project. Bernie has agreed to handbuilt the USA Major Guitars as well as providing the prototypes for eventual top end Korean imports.

Just as with Bernie’s own guitar creations, the Brutus project guitar is completely handmade. No CNC machines and no CAD drawings. However – the exact specifications have been put into place and into production so each guitar will be built to the my exact specifications and to Bernie’s exacting quality standards.

Again, these are rough proto cutouts from the beginning of the project and our work together.

Much of the progress on the Brutus guitar has come through the summer of 2008 and we have kept those details under wraps for competitive and legal reasons.

However, USA Proto Major Guitars will appear by the end of 2008 and in 2009, the plans are for Major Guitars to bring to market both USA Custom Shop handmade guitars, handbuilt by Bernie as well as complete top end Korean made import guitars.
