Bernie and I have worked together to present the Rico ‘Double Diamond’ or ‘DD’ Guitar Series.
The DD series are very limited groups of guitars, handbuilt by Bernie Rico Jr and marketed exclusively by Boogie Street Guitars.
The first group in the DD series will be the Rico ‘Jekyll’ superstrat shape.
These guitars will all be very similar in specs.
Each ‘Double Diamond’ Handmade Rico Jekyll will feature a quilted or flame maple body top with arm contour, maple neck-thru construction unique to the Rico family heritage, mahogany body wings, 24 fret, 25.5 scale ebony fretboard with 2 diamonds inlaid on the 12th fret, the Rico 6 inline reverse headstock, dual humbucker configuration, Original Floyd Rose trem or TonePros stop tail, 1 volume, 1 tone, 3-way toggle switch.
The ‘DD’ Jekylls will come in translucent finishes including blue, red, green and yellow. There will as be solid opaque colors. Each guitar will feature Bernie’s High Gloss finish – so amazing, it’s like no other. A Rico High Gloss is like glass!
Pickup choices include any passive stock Seymour Duncan or DiMarzio humbuckers. Active EMG 81/85 or Seymour Duncan Blackout Humbuckers are also an option. Hardware colors include black, chrome or gold.
Now the amazing part. Boogie Street Guitars is presenting these guitars to the public for 2400 USD – shipped ANYWHERE in the world.
For 2400 USD you receive the handmade ‘DD’ Jekyll – handmade by Bernie Rico Jr and signed by Bernie on the headstock back. You also receive the custom Rico hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity, BSG Shirt and Cap and of course – the Boogie Street Experience!
Bernie and I feel there is nothing on the guitar market today like this. Not one MFG can or will offer a truly handmade guitar like this – spec’d like this – delivered anywhere in the world – for this price. And even if another MFG chose to try to ‘match’ the price – they can’t match the guitar. A Rico USA Handbuilt has no peers. It’s totally boutique – totally amazing and 100 percent constructed with Rico family technology and processes.
This first group – Series One – of the Double Diamond Jekylls has been put into production. We will work with you on pickups, hardware color, type of bridge and guitar color. Please note: however we can only work within the parameters of the ‘Double Diamond’ series. Features outside of the stated specs would constitute a ‘custom order’ Rico, not part of the ‘Double Diamond’ series and thus priced accordingly.
